Hackers from Russia tried to hack the mail of the United States Senate

KIEV. January 13. UNN. Hacker group Fancy Bear, which is associated with Russia, pursued a long-running operation to gain access to the correspondence of employees of the U.S. Senate. “The same hackers (Fancy Bear) who broke into the servers of the US Democratic party, in the last few months has created conditions for the implementation of the espionage campaign against the U.S. Senate,” — said in Trend Micro Inc.

According to him, the hackers are looking for information that can “merge” in open access.

In the report of the cyber security company Trend Micro Inc. published results to suspicious websites similar to internal email database of the U.S. Senate. Digital prints that were in the design of these sites, it was found that the same was used exclusively by the group Fancy Bear.

As reported by UNN, in late December, the Russian hacker group Fancy Bear attacked approximately 200 journalists, including from Ukraine.
