The Minister of internal Affairs of Germany Thomas de Maiziere, who oversees the sport, warned the international Olympic Committee (IOC, – ed.) from the too soft approach to Russia. About this reports Deutsche Welle.

“The IOC should seriously think about whether or not to stop the pressure on Russia so early,” – said de Mezieres.

The Minister made the statement amid reports that the Russian Olympic Committee may be partially or fully reinstated before the end of the Olympics in Pyeongchang.

De Maiziere, however, praised the “hard measures,” the IOC’s attitude to Russia, saying that it had an effect. Admitted to the Olympics in Pyeongchang, Russian athletes are under a neutral flag.

9 February 2018 away panel court of arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected appeals by 47 athletes from Russia on non-admission to the winter Olympic games 2018 in South Korea’s Pyeongchang.
