Foreign Ministry recommends Ukrainians not to visit East Jerusalem

The Ukrainian Embassy in Israel recommends Ukrainians to refrain from visiting in the near future of East Jerusalem and the West Bank because of possible exacerbation of the security situation. This was reported on the website of the diplomatic mission.

The Embassy noted that in connection with the decision of the President of the United States Donald trump on the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and on the transfer of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, there is a probability of aggravation of the security situation in the West Bank and East Jerusalem due to terrorist threats.

The Ukrainian Embassy recommends that you avoid visiting in the near future of these places.

Those citizens who are already in the West Bank and East Jerusalem are advised to exercise vigilance and avoid crowded places.

6 December 2017, the US President Donald trump officially recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Further back from tel Aviv, should move the United States Embassy.

The decision of the American leader caused a wave of protests in the Palestinian authority and some Muslim countries. The initiative trump criticized the EU and the UN.

Because of the decision of the US President, the UN security Council on Friday, December 8, will gather for an emergency meeting.
