Russia has found an economical way to support the ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and his entourage, and thereby thwart the signing of the Association agreement with the EU. He added that in September 2013 a scheme providing financial aid, because “Russia has always operated with Ukraine debt or using gas prices”.

That is, Russia is obliged to purchase a certain amount of Ukrainian bonds — the first tranche was planned in the amount of 3 billion euros. Overall funding was expected to reach 15 billion For the purchase of these bonds from Ukrainian officials were supposed to be personal income.
