In the Czech Republic on 12-13 January, the first round of the presidential election. According to preliminary results of the victory in the first round is won by the incumbent President Milos Zeman. This is evidenced by data from the Czech statistical office, reports 112 Ukraina.

After counting of 99.6% of the vote Zeman gaining 38,65% support, his rival, a former President of the Academy of Sciences Jiri Dragos of 26.56%.

Thus, these two candidates will vie for the presidency in the second round.

The official announcement of the election results scheduled for Tuesday, January 16. The turnout in the first round amounted to 61,88%.

Under Czech law, the second round of presidential elections must be held within two weeks after the first.


We will remind, in October 2017 in the Czech Republic held parliamentary elections, the results of which 78 of the 200 seats in Parliament received a populist political force ANO, and the new Prime Minister was the billionaire Andrew Babish.
