Diplomats of the Russian Federation in San Francisco is accused of violating the law

Russian diplomats from the Russian Consulate in San Francisco was accused of violating the law banning the burning of garbage in the city. It is reported by the BBC.

1 September on the building of the Consulate, which was closed at the request of the American authorities, was seen a pillar of black smoke. It was found that the smoke comes from the chimney. Firefighters who arrived on the scene, are unable to enter the building. It was reported that the smoke caused by burning something in the fireplace.

Now the fire Department said that the Consulate was burning “unknown objects”. According to the Agency, Russia said that the fire was one of the “attempts to save the building.”

It is also noted that smoke has occurred before the diplomats left the premises.

Officials that monitors the air quality in San Francisco, said that diplomats are accused of breaking the law, because the city is forbidden to burn garbage. In most such cases the punishment is limited to fines.
