Died in prison, one of the leaders of the Ku Klux Klan

In the United States, in prison at the age of 92 years died, one of the organizers of the Ku Klux Klan, a former Baptist preacher Edgar ray Killen, who was convicted of the murder in 1964 of three civil rights workers. It is reported by the BBC.

Killen was sentenced on 21 June 2005, forty years after the crime.

We are talking about killing a bunch of racists in Mississippi for three activists from the movement for the rights of blacks James Chaney, Michael Swerner and Andrew Goodman.

Quillen himself did not personally participate in the murder, but was found by the organiser.

This case has accelerated the adoption of the US bill of civil rights. This legislation allowed the Federal government to interfere in the Affairs of States, if necessary, to protect Americans from racial discrimination.
