The leadership of the joint Ukrainian-German company “Solar Chernobyl” announced the completion of the installation of solar panels at the new plant. It is located just 100 m from the new “sarcophagus” – the shelter over the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, which was built in 2016 in addition to the old, Soviet. Workers have already installed 3800 panels on a concrete base.

This solar power plant will be the first in Ukraine, at the start of its power is 1 MW, then it is planned to increase energy production 100 times. The launch is scheduled for February 2018, the amount of investment is amounted to 1 million euros, which is expect to recover in 7 years.

The land on which built the station, still dangerously radioactive, so it took the construction of the insulating Foundation. At the same time, after installation at nuclear power plants a new dome radiation level near it has dropped 10 times. This created the temptation to use the empty space of the exclusion zone for commercial purposes – the State administration of Chernobyl have reported that received 60 proposals from foreign investors.

The choice of the solar power plant as a pilot project for the reintegration of the Chernobyl site due to purely business interests. Here is the entire energy infrastructure for the transmission of generated electricity to consumers in Europe. Plus image attachment – what was the symbol of a monstrous man-made disaster, will be the example of the use of green, renewable energy.
